Geography: New Delhi is situated within the larger metropolis of Delhi, which is located on the banks of the Yamuna River. It spans an area of approximately 42.7 square kilometers (16.5 square miles) and has an elevation of around 216 meters (709 feet) above sea level.


History: New Delhi was established as the new capital of British India in 1911, replacing Calcutta (now Kolkata). The city was designed by British architects Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker, and it officially became the capital of India when the country gained independence in 1947.


Government: New Delhi serves as the seat of the Government of India, with the President's residence (Rashtrapati Bhavan), the Parliament House (Sansad Bhavan), and various ministries and governmental offices located in the city.


Culture: New Delhi is a vibrant and diverse city, representing a rich blend of different cultures and traditions from across India.
