The city is situated on the banks of the Berach River and is known for its magnificent Chittorgarh Fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort was built in the 7th century and has witnessed many battles and sieges throughout history. It is also home to several other historic landmarks and monuments, such as the Vijay Stambh, Kirti Stambh, Rana Kumbha Palace, and Padmini Palace.


Chittorgarh is also famous for its traditional handicrafts, which include pottery, textiles, and jewelry. The city hosts several cultural events and festivals throughout the year, including the annual Jauhar Mela, which commemorates the heroic self-immolation of Rani Padmini and other women of Chittorgarh during a siege by Alauddin Khilji in the 14th century.

The nearest airport is in Udaipur, which is about 90 kilometers away, while the nearest railway station is in Chittorgarh itself. The city has a pleasant climate throughout the year, with hot summers and cool winters.
